Use this Meade Instruments 10 lb Counterweight to properly balance an optical tube assembly (OTA) on your LX85 GoTo German equatorial mount.
It can be used in place of the 9-pound counterweight that came with the mount for smaller OTAs or in conjunction with it for larger telescopes or when adding heavier accessories, guidescopes, or imaging rigs. The weight has a center hole for the counterweight shaft, and a thumbscrew that allows the weight to be secured anywhere along the shaft's length to achieve the precise balance required for smooth tracking and reduced stress on the gears.
