Antares SCT 2" diagonal

I recently put my 9.25" SCT into service after a hiatus. I realized immediately that the regular 2" diagonal, with twist lock visual back was cumbersome and extended the focal length of the OTA significantly. This results in an even smaller fov from an optical design that is challenged by the f10 arrangement. To shorten the path, an sct threaded diagonal is needed.

Overall the product works satisfactorily, but there are problems. The diagonal will not tighten to the back of my xlt 9.25" tube because there are not enough threads exposed from the back of the OTA. It connects perfectly to the F6.3 reducer corrector however. When I removed the nut from another sct adapter and use it in place of the supplied nut, I was able to connect the diagonal to the OTA without the reducer corrector in place.

It is an affordable diagonal, and it's performance seems to be good, but I have not conducted any objective reflectivity testing.

I am presently using 2, one connected to a reducer, and one with the replaced nut. This allows quick changing between a standard and reduced focal length with limited change in focus.
