The reliable and well proven SynScan "GoTo" system comes to Sky-Watcher's 10" collapsible Dobsonian.
NightWatch says, "There may not be a perfect telescope for the beginner, but the closest thing to it is a 6-to-10inch Dobsonian mounted reflector. This type of telescope offers the best combination of modest price, versatility and practicality available in a commercial telescope. For $300 to $700 you get a complete telescope of astonishing capability. It will reveal Cassini's division in Saturn's rings, Jupiter's red spot, the polar caps and dark regions on Mars, thousands of lunar features, the Trapezium at the core of the Orion nebula, hundreds of star clusters in the Hercules cluster and galaxies 60 million light-years away. p. 69
This elegant truss tube design was carefully engineered to combine ease of use, extreme portability and consistent performance in an affordable package. Unlike other truss tube designs, the SkyWatcher Collapsible Dobsonian does not need to be disassembled between uses. It transports as two compact pieces that can be assembled and ready to use in just seconds! It is easy to collimate once set up, and it holds its collimation throughout the viewing.
The bearing system has been redesigned as well. The new SkyWatcher Collapsible Dobsonians feature buttery smooth azimuth bearings. Even the twelve-inch model can be rotated with just the ;push of a finger. Like our traditional Dobsonians, the new Collapsible Dobsonians feature SkyWatcher's patented tension adjustment control on the altitude bearings. This eliminates the need and added cost of clumsy counterweight systems to balance the telescope.
To top it off, all of the new Collapsible Dobsonians are shipping with ultra smooth Crayford focusers and 8 x 50 finder scopes. If you've every tried to find a faint fuzzy near zenith with a straight through finder, you'll immediately appreciate the comfort and convenience of the new finder scopes! Together with the Crayford focusers, the new finders and bearing designs make these telescopes a pleasure to operate.

The following information on SynScan comes from the Sky-Watcher equatorial mounts. Not all of the information may be applicable to the Dobsonian:
For amateur astronomers seeking superior equatorial control and the ease of a precision computerized GOTO system, the SynScan is your answer. The Sky-Watcher SynScan is designed with the novice user in mind. With the user friendly push button hand control, locating and viewing the treasures of the night sky becomes as easy as a walk in the park. The hand control allows you to point the telescope at a specific object or even tour the skies at the touch of a button. The user friendly menu system allows automatic slewing to over 13,400 objects. Even an inexperienced astronomer can master its variety of features in a few observing sessions. The SynScan also comes with features that advanced astronomers can appreciate:
Positioning Accuracy up to 1 arc minute. Accuracy enhanced by software collimation error (mount mechanical error) compensation.
Stepper motors with 1.8° step angle and 64 micro steps driven.
