Product Description

With 82mm objective lenses, the Orion GiantView BT-82 Binocular Telescope delivers an immersive experience while still being compact and portable.

Stargazing with both eyes provides an amazing amount of depth while also making observations more relaxing and comfortable. Views of everything from lunar craters to wispy nebulae will take on an almost 3D feel in the GiantView BT-82. These lenses gather 37% more light than 70mm binoculars, so you'll be able to see more objects in the sky with greater clarity. But the fun doesn't stop at sunrise! This binocular telescope becomes the ultimate "spotting scope" for terrestrial exploration during the day. The 45° eyepiece angle makes both daytime and nighttime observations comfortable.

The BT-82 includes a pair of 18mm 65° 1.25" eyepieces which provide 26x magnification and a 2.5° field. The included eyepieces are threaded for 1.25" filters which can be used to enhance the view. Individual eyepiece focus provides precise focus control, while compression rings hold eyepieces securely in place.

Our favorite feature of the BT-82 is its ability to accept pairs of 1.25" eyepieces so you can control power depending on your observing goals. For example, a pair of 10mm eyepieces will deliver a 47x view through the 470mm focal length BT-82. For the best results, we recommend using 8mm or longer focal length 1.25" eyepieces with the BT-82.

Since the GiantView BT-82 accepts eyepieces, you can also use pairs of 1.25" light pollution filters to improve contrast while observing deep sky objects. With light pollution filters installed, the GiantView BT-82 provides incredible views of many deep sky delicacies.

Thanks to its sealed and nitrogen purged body, the rugged BT-82 is waterproof for use in damp conditions, but it's not designed for permanent outdoor installation. The GiantView BT-82 weighs in at 10 lbs. and requires a sturdy tripod for stable support. A built-in threaded 1/4"-20 socket allows secure tripod attachment. Includes hard foam-lined carry case.
