Are you considering
the purchase of your first telescope? There are several factors to keep
in mind. How you intend to use the telescope – daytime as well as night
time use or primarily for astronomy or for photography - will be a significant factor in
the type of scope you will choose. Most telescopes can also be paired with a camera.

This section of the Learning Center offers some basic information on using a telescope and camera for photography. We hope to continue to add information and display photos. Special equipment is required for astro photography although almost any telescope and camera can be paired for daytime, terrestrial photography.

On
March 29, 2006 a total solar eclipse passed through West Africa and
extended up through the Mediterranian Sea. Star
enthusiasts, Bev and Ken From were serving a one year voluntary service term with the Mennonite Central
Committee in central Nigeria and made plans to visit the center line of
the eclipse in Northern Nigeria.
